Welcome to Collaboration Corner, our weekly Cisco Collaboration and Unified Communications (UC) roundup. Once again, I’ve lassoed up the most interesting blogs from last week. Here are the ones that, for one reason or another, raised a brow.
The IT Web article discusses how the Internet of Things (IOT) will drive the number of devices connected to the internet to a conservative doubling – from (current) 8 billion to over 18 billion – over the next three years, making Unified Communications a VERY exciting place to be.
This UC Strategies post overview’s Gartner’s findings that “the UC market is a mature market” with Cisco and Microsoft leading the charge. ShoreTel (formerly Niche Player) and Unify (formerly Visionary) swap places. .
IT Online reports interest in Unified Communications grows in South Africa as bandwidth and other technology challenges in the region are overcome.
While this NoJitter.com title is a bit misleading, the message is crystal clear: collaboration technologies will continue to add value and be seen as a tool to enable differentiation with better, more frequent communication throughout buying cycles.
Everyone will walk away from this Inc.com read wanting to change something, say no to something and make the most of today.
